Peas and Fashion

Today was a great day for Andrew, his first real food- we stuck with peas. I just kept waiting for the cute yucky face, but we just got a whole bunch of these. He is such a smile baby, even on a day when he got 4 shots :(
You think you are teaching your children important fashion advise until they show up ready to play at Stockton's looking like this! Notice the lovely sandals with mismatched socks, and of course the golf shorts on backwards. To think he thought he was going out in public like this ;) He must get his fashion sense from his dad!

Family Reunion

This weekend we had a family reunion for Sean's Mom's side of the family.- THE PALMERS- We had such a great time! First of all Moab is one of our favorite vacation spots and it was sure beautiful. Don, my mother in laws brother in law (did you caught that) has a piece of mountain land out of just out of Moab, it was the perfect place to have our reunion. We rented a trailer to camp in and it was just perfect! It was great to get to know some people I have never met before and it is always fun to get to know your family better. The first night we arrived in just enough time to put our trailer together and sit out by the camp fire and enjoy those amazing stars that we don't get to see in the city! On Friday we went to Arches, and hiked a little and took in all of the amazing creations God has made.
Then we went to the sand dune across from Arches where we filled the car, our shoes and everything else with  sand!
That night we had a talent show, and camp fire, and told stories, ate mom's yummy M&M pop corn, and wrestled kids to bed! We really had a great time, and how interesting to go learn at church today of righteous family traditions and how it is important to have family reunions to teach our children and to pass on our beliefs! Thanks Mom for all you did for the reunion, it was a great hit!

RED SKIN & Challenge

I suffer from a disease I call RED SKIN, haven't you ever seen those people whose faces are bright red when they are running, and you think they might pass out at any minute. Well, I suffer from it! It is not that I am going to pass out, I just turn bright red!  Anyway, I feel like people are ready to perform life saving aid at any moment. I have also figured out my other "problem"  I decided to just turn up the music, keep my head down, and talk to myself (people might think I'm crazy or just trying really hard).  It is so interesting to get to this point, I though I could never run a 5k and why would I want to! But getting pass my Dr Pepper addiction has really helped and has really pushed me to do hard things, I know that I am strong!  So my challenge is to get going! Start working on something you have been fighting, enrich your life, do something hard, challenge your mind and body!

Super Saturday!

No, it wasn't a Relief Society event, it was just my packed Saturday! Yesterday I felt like I took a whole week of activities and smashed them into a day! So, I ran my first 5k the South Jordan Country Fest 5k. My goal was to not come in last, and I didn't by a long shot. It was so fun to run with my sister, and to yell for each other, and push ourselves. I wrote a list of 172 things I wanted to do before I died, and run a marathon was one of them, so here are my baby steps to get there. I figure that there are tons of races in Arizona, fun for me! And anyone who wants to run the freedom festival 5k is invited! We are going for 32 minute goal. D competed in the Mutton Bustin' at Country Fest, man those sheep were big, and some of them were really scary. D's sheep came out of the shoot bucking, and I almost said, "OK, never mind!" But D really wanted to do it. So he did! He did a great job!
Z competed in the stick pony race and she won her little group of runners, so she got to keep her stick pony! It was so fun and she was one graceful little stick pony rider.
Then we headed down to our home town with Matt and Dani for the Strawberry Days Rodeo. WOW, I love where I grew up it was so much fun. It was great to run into people from High School, and from growing up. And of course the good old strawberries and cream! YUMMY!! Oh, by the way two of our "almost" are now official, Sean was "officially" accepted to Thunderbird (GO SEAN!), and Andrew has now rolled over!

As Requested: Amazing Salmon Tacos

This is Sean's Favorite Dinner I make hands down!  (and how nice for me it is fast, and easy)  I am already drooling, guess what we are having for dinner tonight!

1 lb salmon, skinned and cut into thin strips
1 T cumin
1 t chili powder
2 T olive oil
1/2 cup yellow onion, chopped
2 limes, quartered
1 14 oz can diced tomatoes, drained
(don't use the diced tomatoes with chilies all ready in it, it tastes way different!)
1 4 oz can diced green chilies
1/2 bunch fresh cilantro, chopped
1/4 cup green onions, chopped

1. Toss salmon strips in cumin and chili powder.
2. Heat large skillet over medium heat and cook yellow onion 2 minutes.
3. Add salmon to skillet, spread out so each piece is touching skillet, use a rubber spatula so you don't break up the pieces! Lightly sear for about 3 minutes, turn only once so each piece is touching skillet, and lightly sear other side for about 3 minutes. (Don't over cook salmon, this will continue to cook)
4. Add canned tomatoes, canned chilies, cilantro, and green onions. Gently incorporate and heat through. Drain off excess liquid. Remove from heat
5. Squeeze limes over salmon- YUMMY
I usually serve these on wheat carb- balanced small flour tortillas, sour cream, and what ever else you need, but you wont need much these rock, all by themselves. Save any extra to put over a salad the next day. (Peterson crew, if you are taking out the onion, take our the yellow and leave the green onion, it makes a huge difference in how this tastes. ) I found this on the web somewhere and have changed a few things this is the best tastes I have come up with! ENJOY!! And your husband will be glad you visited my blog today!

My Problem

OK- I am enlisting help from all of you to figure out what in the heck my problem is! I have been talking to Sean about it for 3 days now and I can't figure it out, and he is losing interest in my ramblings. So here we go, in the morning I go walking and really have no other option and really I enjoy taking my kids with me. So I push D and Z in the double jogging stroller, and pack A on me. (Don't say it or I'll poke your eyeballs out!) So here is the problem, every person I see says something like, "Wow, what a load!", or "Your really getting a workout", or "Thats amazing!" I want to wear a big sign that says "SHUT #@ (we don't say that word at our house ;) and just let me workout!"  UGGGGG!! What is my problem? Any suggestions, tips, past experience and help so I don't go around with 3 kids and a sign would be helpful!

More cute kid stuff

I love putting the funny or cute things my kids do on my blog. Well, this week I took the kids shopping with me, which surprisingly they are incredible kids, all 3. Anyway,  I finally found a few things I liked and headed to the dressing room. I slipped on the first dress and Z yelled, "Mom, you look amazing!" The other people in the dressing room started snickering, and needless to say I got the dress. And then I was in the kitchen cooking up some dinner (Sean's favorite Amazing Salmon Tacos) and Z came and found me and said, "Mom your a good cooker".  Here is one from D, I was making some treats and they were cooling on the counter, and D and Z were impatiently waiting and Z said to D, "Are they going to be good?" and D said,     "You better believe it my mom made them!" So it seems like I am busy raising my own cheerleading section.  I love my kids, they are incredible kids!

ALMOST land!

So if there was an almost land, that is where we would currently reside! We are almost everything. Almost sold our house, almost ready to move, almost have a house in Arizona, almost ready for school, almost sold our store, almost rolling over, almost, almost, almost! The more I write it the less it looks right (don't you hate that).  The Breaking Dawn is almost out........ I know I told you, almost land! Almost the only one who has updated their blog in the last week or so ;) Almost enough time in the day!

Fathers!

Well, I wanted to do a tribute to the men in my life, to thank them for being such wonderful fathers. My dad is my hero! I think he is amazing, kind, tender hearted, loving, and has vision (but he can still scare the snot out of people). I have a lot of great memories with my dad. One of my favorites is when I was little we took a trip to the east somewhere and it was my job to keep dad awake while everyone else slept. I think I asked my dad a million questions that night! He patiently answered them all, and stopped me before I moved on to the next million. My papa has always been so supportive of me and my dreams. He has been someone I can turn to, to answer any question from important to just wondering. I love that the priesthood was an important part of our home! Thanks Papa, I love you. I am also so grateful for a wonderful father-in-law. I remember him through out my whole life. Sometimes he would be at dance concerts, or in my ward, I would run into him at random places, I think they were just keep tabs on their future daughter-in-law ;)  He was always so excited to hear about life and how I was doing. One thing that I really admire about my father-in-law is that he taught my husband how to work! Work is an amazing vehicle in this life, both temporally and spiritually. Thanks dad, I know that my husband wasn't always easy! I also want to thank my husband for being a tremendous father to my children. He is kind, and fun, honest, loving, and a wonderful example to my children of a great father. I am grateful that he exercises his priesthood in their behalf often. I am grateful that he yearns for our children to be taught the truth and obedience at a young age. I am one of the luckiest people to be surround by such great, amazing, honest, strong fathers!

Who do I run with?

So everyone is dying to know who I run with..... I run with VAMPIRES! Yes, I finally finished Eclipse last night! And I am still on Team Edward!! I was telling Sean of one of my conflicts of moving, and that was were to pre-order my book in Utah or Arizona! See we are planing on moving July 31, but even a couple days off and I could end up reading the book after all of you have already finished it. That wouldn't be so bad, but my Mom is really bad at keeping secrets (yea, remember mom about Jacob, I still love ya!) ;)                                                                                  I thought I would give you a few updates about past blogs! I haven't had a Dr. Pepper since I wrote about it.  I feel great, it was hard, and it still crosses my mind every now and again, but I know it was the right thing for ME.  Sean has really responded to my plead for more room on the bed,  I didn't even have to tie a sheet down the middle! I have such a sweet kind husband. We have found some people who are interested in buying our house, but they have to sell their house first, and with such a short time line, we had to put our house on the market. We also have some people interested in renting, but we don't know if you want to so that or not, we have never rented before. Anyway, I'll be flying down to Arizona to look for a place for us and preschool and all that stuff, I am really getting excited about this move!

No Brakes!

I was telling Sean it feels like we are on a bike going down a hill with no brakes. Life just keeps on coming at us faster and faster. Time is flying by and before we know it are kids will be grown and gone. D finished his first year of Preschool, they had a big party on the last day. It was all about circuses! The kids got to dress up, and of course david wanted to be a knight (which has nothing to do with the circus). He had a great day, and his teachers were amazing! Z is so cute, yesterday we went for a drive and I asked her how her nap was and she said, "Good mom, how was your nap." I replied, "Good, Z thanks for asking!" To that she said, "No, thank you Mom."   I just laughed and laughed. A is almost rolling over, and he has to be the biggest smile child!  Oh, and I finished New Moon! Yea, the 1 hour deadline really didn't work out so well. I just ran and got Eclipse, but I can hardly keep my eyes open from all of the reading, reading, reading! So if you see me driving down the road, honk, just to make sure I'm still awake;)

Awesome!

Tonight I am feeling great! We had some people walk through the house to sale/rent it, and we have a couple interested people. It is always nice to have options. My house is totally clean, which means that we will checking into a hotel until we move so our house doesn't get dirty;) I finished Twilight and I ran and got the next book. But I am feeling a little foggy brained from the two night in a row staying up way to late to read. I gave myself a time limit tonight- 1 hour- right!

Still Reading

Can't put the book down!

Twilight

Hello, how come no one told me to read this book sooner!! I remember one morning about 3 months or so ago when I made fun of Sunni for staying up late into the night reading I think it was Twilight? Well, at 2:00am I finally convinced myself to put the book down and walk away! (sorry for making fun of you Sunni) But you better believe it was the first thing I picked up this morning! Well, so here is to happy reading, the good new is that I am only on book number 1! ;)

Z's Funnies

I was just thinking of the funny things Z does, like this morning she stuck all the raspberries on her fingers like olives. I love raspberries and I don't know why I have never done that. Last night she needed to go potty she started running towards the potty making zoom zoom noises, she paused for a minute and said to me and Sean, "I pushed the supper fast button!" The funniest I can remember recently is when Sean was going to put a hook into the ceiling he was knocking to find a stud, and after about 45 seconds of knocking Z yelled, "Dad, I think someone is not there!" I am so lucky to have such a sweet little girl!!

King Size Problem!

You would think when sharing a bed that each person in a marriage would get half of the bed. True, maybe in a perfect world! Most nights I find myself rolled into a  small ball in the top left hand corner of the bed. Mind you we do have a king size bed. See we suffer from the my husband is so tall he has to sleep at an angle syndrome. Which means that I find myself with a small triangular area to sleep in. What to do? Maybe if I sleep horizontally across the top of the bed I could stretch out. Or maybe, I will tie a sheet down the middle of the bed and rightfully claim my territory. Speaking of territory I hear that dogs....... well there is no need to go that far!  Any other ideas?
