Found It & First Casualty

Remember how I said moving is great because you finally find the one thing you have been looking for since you moved in, well I found it! And it was also our first casualty of the Arizona move. She got knocked off the counter this morning! Ouch!!!!
I got this from my Mom when I become a Mother. I remember looking at it thinking that there was no way my sweet little baby was ever going to be that big, well, if you know D he is and then some!! I love the little boy in this because if you notice he has both hands over his heart. I want my kids be able to feel in their hearts the amazing LOVE I have for them, for my husband, for my Savior and for this LIFE!  I want that FEELING to be tangible for them, and those who enter in our home.  I guess creating that feeling in my home is the first step, then will I be able to let people feel that no matter where I go, or where I am!

LOVE, I don't think there is a better legacy to leave, or way to change the world!

Childhood Dreams

So this week Sean has been talking to me about Randy Pausch, and the "Last Lecture", and then my sister in Alaska blogged about it today and I decided that God is telling me something. I believe that things are not by chance, I needed to spend the time and watch his last lecture.  For those of you who don't know about the Last Lecture, this is a lecture that was meant as a retirement lecture and was intended to be an "if you were dying" lecture. Well, it just happened to be that Randy Pausch was diagnosed with cancer and was dying. So these were the thing he wanted to share.
Brick walls are meant to stop "other" people, they let us prove how bad we want it, show our dedication.

"It's kind of fun to do the impossible!"

"Experience is what you get when you didn't get what you wanted."

Watching his lecture really made me search deeply for what my childhood dreams were, and made me realize IT IS TIME!
1- Become an expert public speaker
2- Become an accomplished singer
3- Learn 4 different languages
4- Leave a strong legacy of LOVE
5- Change the world

What are your childhood dreams?

Six miles!

Six miles, Six miles, what was I thinking! Ohhhh I am going to be sore tomorrow (today)! Well this is the story- So I was behind be six miles in our Worthington Family Challenge, so me being a really "sore" loser decided to get the lead back all in one day! Now I can be the "sore" winner, which is really a much better place for me!

I'm still working on my earlier problem, you know about the "Shut #@ and let me workout!" problem. I was on my way home after I had just finished my six miles, and the end is pushing the two kids in the jogging stroller and packing the baby up the hill to our house. Well anyway, someone I know is driving by and gives me the "I feel so sorry for you look". I guess maybe the problem is that I don't feel sorry for me, should I feel sorry, I just exercised for six miles and pushed 100 + pounds up the hill! I feel great, I did something hard, and I feel awesome! UGGG maybe I should just not care so much, but I am way into reading peoples body language, and facial expressions.  You know the words you use only account for 7% of what people "hear"!
What do you think he is thinking? Maybe he should just workout with me!

Memo to Sunni

Sunni,

I really need you to do me a favor! Please please please, tell your hairy chested friend to zip his hair in while he rides his bike! Now I know you don't know him, but if you see him while you are biking please inform him that he really needs to take care of this "hairy situation".  I mean it's one thing to flaunt your hair around your house, but riding his bike up 106 South, now that is cruel and unusual punishment. (Maybe the CIA could use him!) Could you also inform him of all the smooth options including simply zip his zipper up! Thank you for your help, I think he will take the news better from a fellow biker!

Anything you can do to speed the process along would be GREAT!

Scholarship!

Way to go Sean! We are all so proud of our daddy. Sean heard back from Thunderbird this week, and he got a scholarship! I am so excited for him and this new adventure!

Well, thanks to my wonderful sister I am well on the packing road. Tami came and helped get me started and we even mapped out a schedule of which day each room has to be boxed up. And I get a GREAT reward if I stay on schedule.... August 2, I get the entire day to read Breaking Dawn.  Me, my mom, sisters, and niece are all having a little Breaking Dawn Party to wait in line to get our books!  It ought to be eventful, because getting the sisters together always is ; ) Got to get on with the packing!

ENGLISH!

Many of you have heard me say that sometimes I think my kids don't speak English! (Well don't hear it is more like it!) D came in from outside and had dirty feet on a clean floor AHHHH, so I told him to turn on the tub and splash water on his feet to clean them off! This is what  D heard...
I have no idea what Z was thinking! The best part is that when Dad busted them, D blamed it all on me! What can you do? Love these kids to death!

26' moving truck not needed!

Apparently this is all Z thinks she wants to take to Arizona. 2 purses, a leopard print skirt, and a swimming suit, she must take after me! Yesterday, she proudly marched up the stairs and announced that she was ready to go to Arizona! I guess we wont be needing that 26' moving truck after all!

Ohh what a sweet moment! (now don't smash the baby!)

Every morning I wake up to a full bed of children. No, the kids are not allowed to sleep in our bed, but when they wake up they come and claim a piece of the bed, till mom funds her way out of bed. D & Z are always so excited to see Andrew! This was such a cute picture from this morning. It is always so cute, till they start smashing the baby and fighting over who he will look at and start crying because D wont leave Z alone, but this was a small glimpse of heaven!

D & Z went to a Dora and Diego day camp today, and had a blast! They said their favorite part was telling the tractor driver to go faster is spanish! Yes, my kids do watch Dora and Diego, those day camp instructors had no idea what they were up against today! ; )

Moving Day

We have an official moving day, August 6! We started pricing moving trucks, and figuring how we are going to get all of Utah to Arizona. EKKKK I am so excited to start this new adventure! Box #1 will be packed and labeled today, even if we have to do it for family night. ; ) (I love when kids are young you can get away with stuff like that.) I have started picturing where everything is going to go in our house in Arizona. I love decorating houses, so this will be so fun for me.

Boooo! My brother in law is ahead in the Worthington Challenge by .09 of a mile, so I better get out and run back into the lead. (I'm a sore loser) 4 miles ought to hold him for a day or two!

American Fork Steel Days 5k

This morning my sister and I ran the 5k in American Fork. And I did get the goal I was going for this time. I wanted to finish in the 35 minute mark, and I did! WAHOO!! The other great thing that happened today was that I only walked for about 12 steps the entire race. That is a big deal for me! It was a great race, more uphill then any other race, and my time got better. The bad news was that my ipod was stuck on Stevie Wonder songs, not so bad the first 2.5 miles. But the last .6 mile I really needed different music. I even told my sister that she couldn't talk to me anymore, because I kind of get mean at the end, it is all I can do to put on foot in front of the other.

Great not only do I suffer from running RED SKIN, but I'm mean too! Watch out Amy Peterson is running, you better run the other way!

Everything Happens for a Reason.

Well, Sean and I are on this "everything happens for a reason" kick. He took my keys all the way down to Orem with him, and had to drive them back up here, only for all of us to drive back down to Orem ($100 of gas)- everything happens for a reason. We planned a temple trip with his family and hit American Fork Steel Days traffic and didn't make it on time- everything happens for a reason. Maybe it's just a great excuse, but I'm going to ride this one as long as I can. I was just eating a Zone bar and ate a crumb off my desk, it was brown and hit me WAY to late that that might not be a Zone crumb, good news it was- everything happens for a reason!

No, really I do believe that things happen for a reason, and sometimes we walk on by mad, or stressed out, and totally miss the reason! So next time, you are put in a situation, look around!

Explaining Twilight- to men!

I have decided that explaining the Twilight series to MEN is totally pointless. Bless their hearts, but they could really care less. I mean, obviously they have not read the book, they don't want to and they don't want to talk about it - FOR SURE! I love that my husband will listen to all my philosophy and all the underlining struggles I hear in the book, but I should know by now that the quickest way to get my husband out of a room is to start talking about Twilight. I have to admit that I even use that to my advantage sometimes! ; )

All of Sean's family is in town and we had a little Peterson reunion yesterday. The kids had such a great time at the Kangaroo Zoo. It is so nice to have kids old enough that they can go and enjoy themselves, and don't have to be constantly followed. We even had a little "talent show" at Grandma's house, D sang the star fish song, and Z sang I am a Child of God, and Baby of Mine. I love that my children love to sing!

Just to keep you updated on the Worthington Family Challenge ( and to brag a little) I am currently in first place with 24 points! Yes, if you saw me out this morning with my bright red face that run put me in first!

Hello!

I realized lately that there are lots of people visiting this blog, I would love to hear from you! I would also love to see your blogs, and hear all about you. From New York, to Hawaii (where I wish I was right now) I would love to get to know you all!
So, yesterday David went to a day camp all about horses, he had a great time and totally loved the horses. But now his question is not can we have a turtle, it is can we have a horse? So I told him in his dreams, and he didn't quite understand that one. My sister is headed back to Alaska today, and I will miss her and her well-behaved 3 children. We loved having them to play, and I always love when my sister is in town!
I am starting to pack today! A little scary, a little exciting, and always fun to find that one item that you have been looking for since you moved in 4 years ago. I'll tell you when I find it!

Reality

Well, I think that reality is finally setting in! I HAVE SO MUCH TO DO!! Moving is hard. Anyway, among all of that, life is good! I am so excited to move and to get Sean going on his MBA. Each class is divided into teams and Sean is a Mustang. We got online and read the forum for his team and read about the people that will be going to school with Sean, WOW- they all sound like amazing people. People from all over the world, speaking all different languages.  I am so excited for where we are going to live, I found a Preschool that I love there as well, but Preschools are expensive in Arizona- I might have to sell my first born to afford Preschool! ; ) WOW- what a huge change this will be! I am excited, and I love that Sean is following his dreams!

What the Heck!

I think this has been quite the adventure this week! One of the most popular lines this week has been, "What the heck!", and the other is, "What the flip!" Last night we spent the night in the ER here in Atlanta. Andrew had been fussing most of the night (which is not like him) and I got up and thought if I feed him maybe I would get some sleep- well when I picked him up he was BURNING! He started screaming and was rolling his eyes in the back of his head- So off to the ER. The hotel was kind enough to take us in their shuttle. We were in the scary ghetto hospital in down town Atlanta, with the huge man that got stabbed, and the crazy man screaming "Help me!" from his room- and me and my mother and cute sweet Andrew. By the time we saw the doctor the Tylenol had kicked in and he was normal Andrew! So they think he has a virus, and we are just watching him now!
Today Andrew and I stayed behind and the rest went to the show, and found some great new things for Kneaders. I love market I love seeing all of the great ideas, and fresh new perspectives, and the people here are so kind.

Andrew

Andrew has a crush on Paula Deen! On the airplane from Glendale to Atlanta my mom had a food magazine with Paula holding a chocolate cake and Andrew would not stop laughing at her. (the picture) He would look away and peek back and laugh and laugh- for 5 minutes. I think he wanted the chocolate cake, what a cute baby! We are having a great time at market, and we are finding some really cute things.

The Funniest Day I Have Lived So Far!

Today was the funniest day I have lived so far! The plane ride from Glendale to Atlanta was the ride from (you choose the word), no my child was a ANGEL, but there were twins on the flight right in front of us, that seriously screamed the entire time! The "mother" ( I used quotes because I use the term lightly) got headphones, drunk and feel asleep! WHAT!!  I just kept praying that it would hit her, that being a mother is one of the most rewarding, happy roles anyone could play. I did at one point in the flight grab my mommies hand and prayed that the plane was not falling from the sky! Anyway, to the funny part! So tonight, the readers digest version, one sister peed her pants twice, one sisters face puffed up - from an allergy, the elevator doors here eat people- even if your standing in the way, I got left in the elevator laughing my head off, with a puddle of ( you know what- not from me) and I was crossing my legs so I didn't pee, when I could finally get the elevator to stop the man on the 10th floor said "OK just keep going!" And he didn't get on the elevator! So the laughter turned into snorting!  I could hear the rest of my party laughing from 2 floors up!

Not Quite!

Yesterday I ran the 5k at the Freedom Festive in Provo- first of all it was a great race! I loved all the people, police and all the hoopla! But, I didn't quite make my goal as perviously stated. My last race was 38 minutes  (no laughing) and this race was 36.?? I haven't got my official time yet. I am so excited that my time got better, and to my defense, the last mile was uphill :( . So all that said it still wasn't 32 minutes! My sister, brother and niece all ran the race as well- and we all finished (and we were not last, not even close!). My (Worthington) family started two competitions yesterday, we officially weighed in, and we will weigh in again on November 2, 2008. So here is the competition, % of body weight loss, and the other is total distance (running, swimming, or biking). I am really excited to (kick everyone's butt!) have a friendly, motivational competition! Most important, to have everyone moving, exercising, getting healthier! It will be so fun to do this as a family! In fact, one of my sisters all ready reported a mile of running this morning!

Happy 4th of July!

I am so thankful for my country!  I am amazed at the beautiful places I have seen, from the San Francisco bridge, the beautifully majestic rockies that I get to see everyday, the amazing sunset on Sunset beach, the beautiful sunshine in Florida, the ever busy Time Square, I have seen a zillion stars in the sky at Lake Powell, I have seen amazing waterfalls, beautiful meadows, and amazing arches! I love that I have been given the choice to practice whatever religion I want. We are all so lucky to live in a country that has given everyone a voice, education, freedom. I am thankful to those who protect my freedom by sacrificing theirs.  I am grateful for the protection and peace I feel! Wow- how lucky am I not only to be born as an American, but into the church as well!

Advantages Of Being A Woman

Why it's better to be a Woman!

1. We got off the Titanic first.

2. Our husbands clothes make us look elfin & gorgeous. Guys look like complete idiots in ours.

3. We can cry and get off speeding fines.

4. We don't look like a frog in a blender when dancing!

5. New lipstick gives us a whole new lease on life.

6. It's possible to live our whole lives without ever taking a group shower.

7. We don't have to fart to amuse ourselves.

8. If we forget to shave, no one has to know.

9. We can congratulate our team-mate without ever touching her butt.

10. We never have to reach down every so often to make sure our privates are still there.

11. If we're dumb, some people will find it cute.

12. We have the ability to dress ourselves.

13. Our friends won't think we're weird if we ask whether there's spinach in our teeth.

14. There are times when chocolate really can solve all your problems!

15. We have enough sense to realize that the easiest way to get out of being lost is to ask for directions.

Did you hear about the blonde that...

When asked what the capital of California was; answered "C".

Got excited because she finished a jigsaw puzzle in 6 months and the box said "2 to 4 years"
