I get him all to myself! - SPIT

After a very long week of NO DADDY we get him all to ourselves for 3 days. Sean has been super busy with school and Foundations week at Thunderbird. And now it is time for a family weekend! I am really looking forward to seeing my husband for a little while.

Tell me if I am the worse mother in the world? So- David wanted some ice cream yesterday and I told him after he had his nap and he spat on my face. (lovely I know but keep in mind he was really tired and need a nap) So I took a nice deep breathe and calmly explained that that NEVER flies at our house! I also told him it was the meanest thing he could ever do to someone- it showed lack of caring and R E S P E C T (no I did not sing about it though). I then went on to explain the consequence- no nice mommy stuff! I would not wash his clothes that day, I would not make dinner for him, help him when he needed help, play games with him, sing a song to sleep, ect..... boy did I get a reaction! He thought I was just going to roll over and forget- nope he had no nice mommy stuff. I hope I wasn't too harsh- I just think spitting on someone shows a complete lack of respect! Anyway one of my friends was trying to offer support, but I saw that maybe she thought I was being too harsh.
What do you think, or what have you done in this situation?

Some Yummy Cookin!

Well, here is a picture of my favorite place in our house here in Arizona! I just love my kitchen!! There is definitely some yummy cookin going on here. As I completely finish rooms I'll take picture for you all!
I attended my first IWFC committee meeting this morning. It is the "club" for wives (spouses) of Thunderbird Students. I was feeling frustrated with communication with the wives of students, so now that's what I'm doing. You know, I can't sit still for too long anyway! I have met some friends one from Washington State, one from Chile, and one from Japan (her husband is a Mustang as well)

Ok- our church callings are not a "secret" anymore, but I am going to make you all guess! Oh- what fun this will be!  I wont make you guess alright- Sean is working with the YM as the Priest Advisor and I am the Ward Music Chairperson. Here we go right in to it all!

Funny Kids

As my mother has requested, this is what she wants to hear about "MORE KIDS  MORE KIDS!"
While we were eating lunch yesterday the conversation went something like this- Z said, "Look at my muscles, I am strong!" Then D said, "No look at my muscles"  "WOOW" Z says to D, and D says, "Yea WOOW is RIGHT!" Kids are so silly sometimes.

D Has been building houses out of moving boxes, but he just can't build, he has to make instructions on how to assemble his houses. (I guess it's Bob the Builders fault) He is off to all day preschool today, he gets to take a lunch and eat lunch at school, which is totally the highlight for him!

This is Z's first day of Preschool, they talked about funny faces, so everyone including Miss Linda have on their funny faces.

I Found It!!!

I found my cord!! I just knew it was here somewhere- in my bag of all the stuff I will need right away, yea I haven't touched it since we got here. Anyway I will ease you into all the pictures ; )

Last night we had the official opening flag ceremony for Thunderbird- I thought it was incredible! It was fun to get to know people better, and to learn a little about each country that is represented in the student body. I think last night that was about 40 countries. WOW!! Some countries that I have never even heard of. It was really great to have everyone dressed in their traditional clothing and we loved it. Sean is so excited to have met some great people.

Yesterday he had to sing in front of his group and he sang "Jesus Want's Me For A Sunbeam" HE HE!!

Things we haven't had "ENOUGH" of!

Last post was full of "ENOUGH" and this post is celebrating the things we want more of.

1. Blue Sky! Every morning I wake up and look out side, and to my surprise still everyday blue sky and sunshine! I don't think you can get Enough blue skies and sunshine!
2. Meeting new people! Last night there was a Meet and Greet on Campus and we met AMAZING people, and we have met people from all over the world, every religion, and will have life long friends from this group of people! Today there was a meeting with just the Spouses and children of students- I met great woman who are from everywhere some speak very little English and I am so excited to have met some great friends there! It is always fun to be surrounded by women who are going through the same things that you are. Oh I am so excited to be living this adventure!
3. Palm Trees! You can never have enough palm trees! I just love driving down the streets and looking at all the different kinds. We have also found out the palm trees give nasty slivers! (But we will happily take the slivers.)

4. The Church! I am continually amazed at the family of members that I have automatically inherited. It is so fun to get to know our ward- which has been amazing to us, and fun to get to know the other students that are LDS as well. For the most part all of them fall within our Stake.

5. Oddly I have not had enough weird looks! I don't know why in Utah I had a problem with it, but I just have become numb to it! 3 kids and this close together! I know- I love it!!

Enough! - Vote On New Hair Cut

Just somethings we have had ENOUGH of!

Sean was making breakfast this morning and watching a little about the Olympics and David had a melt down! "WE HAVE WATCHED ENOUGH OF THIS- HAVEN'T WE!" 10 seconds of silence......... and then both Sean and I just broke out laughing. Apparently David is DONE with the Olympics! I however wish the Olympics were a little more often!

I have had ENOUGH with my hair, it is way past time for a good cut and some good color. I found a place that I am going to try over in Scottsdale, now it's time to vote on a new do!

First Day of School for Sean

Today started the first unofficially official day of school for Sean. (He has to brush up on economics before he officially starts) He was so excited and it was so cute. He just couldn't keep from smiling and it was sooo cute to have D and Z so excited for Daddy to start school. Oh shoot I didn't get a picture of Sean on his first day. (Maybe when he gets home) My camera is chuck full of pictures- WHERE IS THAT CORD?

So if I suffered from "Running Red Skin Disease" in Utah, I was shining bright red today running in 104 degrees and it defiantly made me the brightest thing besides the sun this morning! What do I do? I can even see my red face in the reflection off the computer screen!

David has Preschool all day today. They started all day Kindergarten here in AZ and so they have one day of all day Preschool to introduce the kids to the idea. I really don't know what to do with myself. He got to pack a lunch to take with him, he is so excited and loves his new  preschool. There are 4 kids from our ward that go to the same preschool, and David is feeling more comfortable and is really getting settled.

Favorite Palm Tree

I didn't know there were so many different types of palm trees, I have always just loved them! But there are thousands of species of palm trees! After a week of just loving the fact that I live where there are palm trees, I have narrowed my favorites down to a couple.  Here is one of my favorites the Coco Palm- now I love this palm tree because it has a smooth trunk, which I overwhelmingly prefer in a palm tree!
Z had her first day of Preschool today. She started the day off saying "I don't like me teacher!" But she has never met her teacher. Then she went for the "The other kids will be rude to me and hurt me!" Then we had the "if your nice they more than likely will be nice as well" talk. So we dressed her in her choice of clothes, and finished her off with a pink flower in her hair, and off to school. She loved it!! I have pictures but I can't find my computer/camera cord, so as soon as I find it I will post them!

D played at a friends house today, a friend that is a girl- he didn't like that idea at first but she is pretty tuff, and now he is OK with it! He wanted two boy friends just like in Utah, but she IS pretty cute! ; )

Hallowening

How cute is my Z she calls Family Home Evening - Hallowening. I think this is because we really started to have our Family Home Evenings around Halloween of last year. So she has combine the two and we have Hallowening! Sounds pretty fun hu?

Sean is home from Utah and drove the drive down in 9 hours- which is way better than 14 hours for our first trip. I love having my honey home!

Yesterday at church we got callings, but they are still a secret, so I'll fill you in on details later! We love our ward! And it is so great to have another Thunderbird Student and family in our ward! Our ward has been amazing and super helpful- I even have someone who keeps we updated about all the sining opportunities and try outs for me. We couldn't have asked for better!

D started Preschool today! I'll post a picture soon. He was so excited, we didn't know if we would be able to find a preschool this late in the game but we did. Miss Linda is D's teacher and he goes on M/W/F and Z is excited to start tomorrow, she has Miss Linda as well but she goes on T/TH.  A is as cute as humanly possible!! His fat knees just kill me, but they will be great for crawling!

Meet Joey

Sunni guessed right! We are the proud new owners of "Joey" the red lizard. Sean and I were putting the dining room table together on the first day we moved in and David said, "Lizard" of course I thought he wanted a lizard, not that there was one on our kitchen floor. So I say "No there is not a lizard!" David says, "Yes LIZARD, Look mom." I say "NO THERE IS NO LIZARD (just then the lizard moved) OK THERE IS A LIZARD IN OUR HOUSE----SEAN!!!" So Sean made a dive for the lizard, but he got under the dish washer. Ahhh- I have a lizard living in my house. I guess it could be worse I could have the annoying Cicada, or worse a Scorpion. Oh, and by the way I am totally freaked out of my mind about Scorpions. YUCK!
Everyone meet Joey, Joey meet everyone!

I think my kitchen, family room, Andrew's room, and David's room are all decorated, organized, done! I also took my first no GPS trip today! I didn't even get lost! Go me, Go me!

Please pray for Ali

Our sweet little neighbor girl when we lived in Utah is in need of prayers on her behalf. She was kicked in the back of the head by a horse on Monday, and is suffering major complications. My heart just broke tonight when I heard the news. She is just 4 months older than my sweet Z, I remember when she was born and have seen her grow up just ahead of Z for 3 years now. Ohh, I wish I could just hold their family in my arms and love them. Please pray for Ali!!! I know God hears and answers prayers!

Learning about Arizona

The super LOUD buzzing bug is a Cicada. And the male bugs buzz like crazy in the hottest time of the year and hottest time of the day. Thank heavens I have only heard them and not seen one, because I think I would flip!
Did you know that Phoenix is the 5th largest city in the US! I had the opportunity to get lost yesterday (I even had a GPS telling me where to go) I dropped Sean at the airport to fly back to Utah to drive his car and the last of our stuff down. And the best part was the David had to pee so bad he couldn't wait he was going to explode! So we had our first pee in a cup situation on our hands! I vowed I would never let my kids pee in a cup, but lost in the 5th largest city in the US and having no idea where would be a safe place to stop.... and all of a sudden we have peeing in a cup.
(I am laughing my head off while I write this)

I found Super Target, and the Mall yesterday! We even ventured into both- HELLO WHY HAVE I LIVED IN UTAH SO LONG! There were actually tons of cute clothes at the Mall- WAHOO! Great shopping!! I swear I am the only person that has kids here! When we were at Target I saw 4 other children. In Utah there would be something seriously wrong with only 6 kids total in Super Target. There are usually enough kids throwing huge fits that it makes my kids look like ANGELS, but they were the loudest, most talkative, children in the store. They were extremely well behaved, but I was stressed out because no one else was making any noise-except for the low hum of oxygen tanks. Next time I will just have them race all the old people in the electric carts, because there were plenty of them! Cheap good old fashion entertainment!

Guess What We Found?

So I'm giving you 2 days to guess what we found in our kitchen! We have really got to figure out some of these "Arizona" things. Like the bug that makes the loudest buzzing noise ever.... yea, I have no idea! I have a feeling that google will be our best friend for a little bit here. Sean went to an IT training class last night on campus, he is so excited to get going! We went to campus on Monday night and walked around to become familiar with everything and we walked into the cafeteria, and I don't know if it was that we are sooo tall, or the 3 kids, or what it was but the entire cafeteria came to a halt. (you could hear a pin drop!) I felt like we walked in on a top secret meeting!  It was a little uncomfortable.... but not uncommon these days. I had a little momentary melt down yesterday, you know the so far from home, lots to do, friends back home, tired, hot..... but the good news is that everything is super this morning. I promise I'll post pictures soon.

Climbing Orange Trees

We made it! I love it here!! We had an interesting drive down, D was up all Thursday night throwing up, and me with him (one of the best parts of Motherhood) ; ) So when we got up in the morning, I thought there was no way we were going to make it. But some pretty serious praying was going on cause I did! If you ever get a chance to drive through Utah at 55 miles per hour with a 4 year old throwing up as you go, I highly recommend it(maybe not the last part)! Only once in your life time though, and I have now done my turn! (but seriously it is beautiful)  And if you ever get a chance to drive through AZ in the dark, pouring rain, with a Uhaul trailer hitched to you, don't do it! The good news is we are all alive and unpacking like crazy! The kitchen is pretty much in place, and our master bed room as well, and I just love my closet here, if you ever come and stay you might just have to sleep in the closet! (I'll post a picture as soon as I find that camera!) D found one of his favorite new past times, climbing orange trees. We have two beautiful orange trees in our back yard, and they need to have all the fruit pulled off, so we could have beautiful Christmas oranges, so D went to work.
He has had a bit of a hard time, new place, new things, new people. But I think that he is getting better and better! Z keeps on saying- I love this house better than the old one, I love this church better than the old one. Like she has to love it more to make it ok! She is doing great, and met a bunch of girls here age at church yesterday. A is the same smiley baby he always is, he just rolls and rolls to get where he wants to go. I am in love with the people, the orange trees, the kitchen, the closet, and of coarse my SEAN! Sean is eager to get going to school, and really excited about the family aspect Thunderbird has!

We all love you, and miss you!

Grateful!

My heart is just on overflow! I am so grateful this morning. Grateful for amazing people that Sean and I have gotten to know, grateful for good friends- who even fold your underwear! I am so grateful for people who prayed us here, grateful to people who changed our lives! Sean and I sat and talked last night about all of the things we have learned simply by associating with amazing people! I know that our lives will be different, we have been impacted for the better! I have learned about LOVE in an amazing way the last 4 years. I hope that I can take what I have learned and better peoples lives. I really don't think that words can describe how I feel!

I remember when we were looking to move here we had found a house about 15 minutes from the store, and had even made an offer on the house. The next morning I just woke up physically ill, I knew that that beautiful house on the hill was not the house we were to buy. So I softened my heart and confessed to Sean that I really wanted to move there, but it was NOT the right place. So then we found it, a repossessed white brick house covered in ivy. Was this where God wanted me to be? YES!! I am so thankful to have listen to the spirit, I could not have imagined how our lives would be impacted! Thank you! We love all of you!

Lots Going On!

There are a tons of things happening in these last few days here in Utah! Over the weekend my Mom, sisters and niece all went to the midnight release for Breaking Dawn. We had a blast!! My favorite line of the night belonged to my Mom "It's like being at the Zoo and trying not to look!" I still haven't finished I have about 150 pages left.
Yesterday the Worthington side of the family got together for a little goodbye party! We had a great time visiting and playing with everyone and discussing a recent book release! Today some of my friends in my neighborhood, came over and brought lunch and said goodbye! I had a great time, and it is always fun to get together with all these girls! Thanks Sunni for help with Laundry!  The boys got to play together, and when it was time to go it was like pulling teeth!

There will be a lot of things I will miss about Utah! I am so thankful for good friends, and for fun times, and lots of family! I am looking forward to this move, and I know that this is were God wants us to go!
