My D. has started something new lately- "awesome dude!" I went to the grocery store and filled the fridge up with food, and D. informed me that the fridge was now "awesome dude!" WHAT? Who has a 4 1/2 year old that says "awesome dude!" after each sentence. I made one eye sandwiches for breakfast this morning (something my dad use to do all the time) and I got an "awesome dude!" At church D. got to help me put up the hymn numbers and I got an "awesome dude!" We washed all the laundry on Saturday, and that received a, you guessed it "awesome dude!" Honestly I must be the totally most awesome dude (translation: Mom) in the entire world, I hear it all the time now!
What in the world he is only 4 1/2, what am I going to do with him!

If you recall one of your earlier posts, he could be saying a lot worse phrase! Has it gotten to the point where you want to yell at him to zip it or is still cute? Tae learned the phrase "what the . . . " from her cousins -- they didnt swear but just kept saying what the. It drove me CRAZY! I like awesome dude. Way to go little D!
Do you watch Finding Nemo? We do A LOT - the turtles say it. Way cute though!
Amy~ Love your blog!! :) Don't love the swearing.... I think you have lots of options, here are a couple: 1-ignore it and hope it goes away. 2-give him something else to say. I have a niece who kept saying OMG, and couldn't remember if it was okay to say gosh or God. So, my very brilliant sister gave her something completely different to replace it with, and now the phrase is "Oh my noni." That was several years ago, and now we are all still using it.
Hey, maybe he picked it up from that dude that got pulled over by the police last week.
D and I are on the same page - you are awesome.
